2 Airlifted Following Cameron Collision Monday


Emergency responders were dispatched to a vehicle accident on NC 24/27 at the intersection with Bryant Road at 6:42 pm Monday.


The T-bone collision involved a jeep and a passenger car.


According to Cypress Pointe Fire Chief Mike Cameron the firefighters had to cut the front passenger door off of the passenger car to free an injured victim. Two people from the passenger car were airlifted from a field near the accident scene.



This accident was called in to the dispatch center after a Deputy with the Sheriff's Office drove up on the accident scene today.


NC 24/27 was temporarily closed to traffic in both directions.


There was also a small dog that was in the blue car when the accident occurred. The dog reportedly jumped out of the car and ran away from the scene. Family members and friends remain on the lookout for the missing do


Responding were units with Cypress Pointe Fire & Rescue, Carthage Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, Moore County Sheriff's Office, and the NC State Highway Patrol.
