Sheriff Ronnie Fields announces an arrest following an investigation in the Eagle Springs area of Moore County.
On March 26, 2024 the Moore County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest resulting from an investigation into possible internet-based child sexually explicit material in Moore County following a report received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
On March 26, 2024 sheriff’s forensic specialists arrested Erick Ivan Lopez-Cruz, age 21, of Eagle Springs, North Carolina.
Lopez-Cruz was charged with five counts of felony second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, and five counts of felony third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and was committed to the Moore County Detention Center under a $250,000.00 secured bond pending a first court appearance in Moore County District Court on Monday, April 8, 2024.
All persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
