Aberdeen Police Announce Arrest Of Teens For Larceny of a Motor Vehicle

On January 31, 2024, Aberdeen Police Officers, along with Aberdeen Investigators, responded to the Berkley Community in reference to a stolen motor vehicle.


The victim reported she was inside a residence picking up her child for several minutes and when she returned outside, her vehicle had been stolen. Aberdeen units responded to the general area and were eventually able to locate and recover the stolen vehicle. The vehicle was processed by investigators, and the neighborhood was canvassed for information.


Investigators were able to successfully obtain latent fingerprints, as well as receive witness testimony in reference to the stolen vehicle. Investigators continued to investigate the crime, after obtaining additional search warrants and eventually identified two juveniles; One 14 year old male and one 16 year old male, both of Aberdeen, NC.


On February 29, 2024, Aberdeen Investigators obtained juvenile petitions on the juveniles, through Moore County Juvenile Justice for Felony Larceny of a Motor Vehicle and Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle. On March 26, 2024, the juvenile petitions were fulfilled and will be processed through Moore County Juvenile Court.
