Barry Lewis Elliott, 77, of Pinehurst, NC passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 24, 2024 at Moore Regional Hospital.
Barry was born on September 12, 1946 in Hemingway, SC to the late James “Freddie” and John L Lewis Elliott.
Barry worked as the County Administrator in Florence, SC and later was the CFO for waste management companies. He was the first person to apply for graduation at Francis Marion University. He was an avid golfer, collector of golf club sets, and loved to take a mulligan. He always had a stylish mustache. He loved his wife and family, his cat Blanche and his dog Melvin. He was also a NC State fan and well as a huge fan of the SC Gamecocks. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him and called him friend.
Barry is survived by his beloved wife of 57, Sally Baxley Elliott; daughters, Tracie Eckenstein (Jason) and Lindsay Augustine; son, Lee Elliott (Therese); 5 grandchildren, Baxley, Jim, Addy, Carter and Thomas; his brother, Donald Elliott (Betty).
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024 at 1:00PM at Boles Funeral Home, 35 Parker Lane, Pinehurst, NC 28374. Following the service, the family will gather at one of his favorite spots, The Pinecrest Inn, 50 Dogwood Road, Pinehurst, NC 28374 from 2:00 - 4:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Moore Humane Society.
Services are entrusted to Boles Funeral Home of Pinehurst.
