Bryan Cropley, a resident of Pinehurst, passed away on June 2, 2024.
Bryan was born August 29, 1936 in Weston, Maine and was the son of Hugh and Nina Cropley, nee Weeks.
Bryan is predeceased by his parents Hugh and Nina; his sister Janet, and two brothers, Wilbur and Melvin.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 plus years, Margaret (nee Okler); his brother Raymond; two children, Andrew and Tracy; six grandchildren, Zachary, Kevin, Timothy, Megan, Tyler and Elizabeth; and two great-grandchildren, Madison and Beckett.
Bryan was a US Navy Veteran and served on the aircraft carrier, the USS-Essex (CV-9). He and Margaret were married on July 1, 1961 and began their life together. He worked for AT&T for 25 years and then as a US Postal carrier before retiring to Pinehurst to enjoy some golf and relaxation.
He volunteered with major events like the US Open as well as smaller events like the US Golf Kids Junior events. He enjoyed geocaching, especially with his grandchildren, which got him out exploring the area
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 26, at 2:00 PM at the Boles Funeral Home, 35 Parker Lane, Pinehurst, NC 28374.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to FirstHealth Hospice & Palliative Care, 150 Applecross Road, Pinehurst, NC 28374.
Services are entrusted to Boles Funeral Home of Southern Pines.
