Dog Dies In West End Fire Sunday Morning

Emergency responders were dispatched to a structure fire just after 9:00 am on Archie Road.


The first arriving fire unit reported heavy smoke showing from a single story home.


According to fire officials they were able to contain the fire to a bedroom, however the house suffered extensive damage from the smoke.



A dog was reportedly inside the house at the time of the fire and is decreased.


Archie Road was blocked to traffic in both directions for an extended time period while firefighters were on the scene.


Final units cleared from the fire just after 12 noon.


Responding were units from West End Fire & Rescue, Seven Lakes Fire Rescue, Eagle Springs Fire Department, Pinehurst Fire Department, Moore County EMS, Moore County Sheriff's Office and the Moore County Fire Marshals Office.
