Emergency responders were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 7:50 am Sunday morning in the 1000 block of West New Hampshire Avenue in Southern Pines.
The first arriving fire units reported smoke and flames showing from a single story residence.
Firefighters were able to quickly knockdown the bulk of the fire, however spent considerable time putting out hot spots and ventilating smoke from the house.
According to Southern Pines Fire Chief Mike Cameron the home was occupied at the time of the fire, but everyone was able to get out of the house prior to the fire departments arrival.
Responding includes Southern Pines Fire & Rescue, Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Whispering Pines Fire Rescue, Pinehurst Fire Department, Moore County EMS, and the Southern Pines Police Department.
The cause of the fire is not known as of this report.
