Eileen Mary Lucy Gardner, 79, of Sanford passed away peacefully on Monday, April 22, 2024 at FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst.
She was born March 4, 1945 in New Windsor, NY to the late Patrick and Olga Wolovidge Lucy.
Eileen was a life-long resident of New York. She was a special education teacher and very passionate about education. She loved her grandchildren and was constantly doting over them. She enjoyed watching National Geographic TV shows, HGTV and eating marshmallow peeps. One of her favorite pastimes was sitting on the back porch watching the birds.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles John Gardner; her siblings, Patricia Brown, James Lucy, and Mary Lucy; and a grandson Anthony Rodriguez.
She is survived by her son, Sean Gardner; daughters, Sharon Gieseke (husband Keith) and Mary Frances Gardner; four grandsons, Nicholas Rodriguez, Ryan Rodriguez, Charles James Gieseke, Sean Ryan Gardner; and one granddaughter Ren Morales.
No public service is being held.
