Firefighters Conduct Training Burn Of House In Eagle Springs Saturday

Firefighters from several agencies gathered to conduct a live training burn Saturday morning.

The training today was held at an older home off of NC Highway 211 west of the Eagle Springs Fire Department.

During the morning long event the instructors created several different fires in different rooms of the home to create lifelike scenarios for the firefighters to train with.

The blaze on the inside of the house was so hot that the air around the outside of the home quickly became extremely warm as well.

Firefighters would extinguish one objective, before a new group would move in to tackle the next problem.

The home being burned is some distance from the highway, however residents driving on NC 211 may see smoke in the area. This is nothing to be alarmed of.

Participating in this lifelike training were units with Eagle Springs Fire Rescue, Seven Lakes Fire Rescue, West End Fire Rescue, Southern Pines Fire Rescue, and the Candor Fire Department.

Moore County EMS and the Moore County Sheriff’s Office also assisted in today's training.
