Emergency responders were dispatched to a reported structure fire on Samuel Medlin Lane in Cameron just before 8:00 pm Thursday.
Firefighters arrived to find a small outbuilding fully involved with fire extending to a nearby barn.
The first arriving fire unit was able to knock down the fire saving the barn from being destroyed. There was still extensive damage to the inside of the barn and the smaller outbuilding was a total loss.
Units from multiple departments responded as water had to be transported to the scene from a nearby watering point.
Responding tonight were units with Cypress Pointe Fire & Rescue, Carthage Fire & Rescue, Whispering Pines Fire & Rescue, Crains Creek Fire Department, Moore County EMS, Moore County Fire Marshals Office, and the Moore County Sheriff's Office.
