Firefighters Respond To Vehicle Fire In Pinebluff Family Dollar Store Parking Lot Monday

Units with Pinebluff Fire & Rescue were notified by someone driving by of a vehicle on fire in the parking lot of the Family Dollar on US Highway 1 just after 4:00 pm Monday.


According to firefighters when they first reached the scene there was flames and smoke showing from the engine compartment of the passenger car.


Firefighters in full turnout gear and airpacks braved the 95 degree temperatures outside to knockdown the blaze consuming the front of the car.


The vehicle was located less than 15 feet from the large commercial building that houses Family Dollar. But for the quick response and immediate actions by firefighters at the scene this fire could have easily extended to the building.


Firefighters were able to put out the fire, however the vehicle still suffered extensive damage from the heat and smoke.


Responding were units with Pinebluff Fire & Rescue and the Pinebluff Police Department.
