Hoke County Sheriff Announces Arrest For Theft Of Mobile Homes

The Hoke County Sheriff’s Office announced on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at approximately 4:07 p.m., H&H Communities called Hoke County Dispatch to advise seven mobile homes were stolen from Green Pines MHP and three were located in Harnett County.


Around 6:34 p.m., H&H Communities called Hoke County Dispatch to advise a stove was being taken from another trailer from Green Pines Mobile Home Park.

Deputies were able to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle with the stove. The female advised she was told by Ryan to get the item from the trailer. Deputies and H&H Communities were out with a tow driver who had been told by Ryan to move mobile homes to different locations.

During the investigation, the suspect was identified as Ryan Gabriel Doby. Mr. Doby was charged with eight counts of felony larceny. Pending further investigation.

On June 23, 2024, at approximately 3:22 p.m., Hoke County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations conducted an investigative stop on a vehicle that a wanted person was known to drive. The driver was identified as Ryan Doby, who the Deputy knew had an active warrant. Mr. Doby was detained without incident.

Detectives spoke with Mr. Doby after Miranda Rights were waived. Mr. Doby was taken to Hoke County Detention Center and served the warrant for eight counts of larceny. Due to being on pretrial release, Mr. Doby was given no bond.
