Home Burns In Pinehurst Thursday Night


Emergency responders were dispatched to a structure fire on Lasswade Drive in Pinehurst at 8:26 pm Thursday.


According to fire officials one of the residents looked outside and saw the garage of the home on fire.


When the fire department arrived on the scene the fire had spread and the home was fully involved in flames.


Two people and a dog were reportedly home when the fire occurred and were all able to safely evacuate the home.



Firefighters used the Tower Truck from Aberdeen to spray a large volume of water from above onto the fire before reverting back to attacking the fire with handlines.


A firefighter was transported to the hospital by ambulance from this scene. According to fire officials, the firefighter had a medical issue that is not life-threatening.


The fire was still active as of this report so investigators have not yet had a chance to try and determine the cause of tonight's blaze.


Responding were units with Pinehurst Fire Department, Eastwood Fire Department, Whispering Pines Fire Rescue, Seven Lakes Fire Rescue, Southern Pines Fire & Rescue, Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, and Pinehurst Police Department.
