Katherine Eugenia “Jeanne” Frye Crockett, 82, of Pinehurst, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
Jeanne was born November 10, 1941, in Salisbury, NC, to the late John William Frye, Sr., and the late Hannah Genoa Mills Frye.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, David Godwin Crockett, in 2018.
She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters: Barbara Elizabeth Wood Harris (Jeff) of Durham, NC, Elizabeth Anne Crockett Henderson (Carl) of Swansboro, NC, and Laura Lee Crockett of Aberdeen; five grandchildren: James David Harris, Ainsley Elizabeth Harris, Caroline Knight Henderson, John Crockett Henderson, and Annabelle Lear Henderson; three brothers: John William Frye, Jr. of Texas, Robert Wesley Frye (Janice) of Greenville, NC, and James Anthony Frye (Aldena) of Pinehurst; sister in law Charlotte Ann Crockett Hardenbergh, and brother in law Frank Eddy Hardenbergh, both of California.
Jeanne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. Her daughters describe her as the epitome of love. She found much joy in preparing food for others, and spent a significant part of her life doing so. Her parents owned and operated Frye’s Diner in Aberdeen. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Southern Pines.
A private graveside service was held for family members. A service to celebrate her life is being planned for the summer.
Services are entrusted to Boles Funeral Home of Southern Pines.
