Large Outside Fire In Eagle Springs Monday Afternoon

Multiple stations have responded to a large outside fire on Parker Road in Eagle Springs Monday afternoon.

Initial units from Eagle Springs Fire Department were on the scene within minutes of being dispatched and immediately called for additional Brush Trucks to respond.

Dry conditions and a strong breeze caused the fire to spread rapidly today.

Shortly after arriving at the fire the on-scene commander requested a Tanker Task Force be dispatched to assist providing water. This resulted in Tanker units from multiple stations across the county responding. This included units coming from as far away as Crains Creek Fire Department near the border with Fort Bragg, as well as Pinebluff Fire & Rescue coming from south of Aberdeen and a variety of other departments across the region in-between contributing as well.

A plow from the NC Forest Service was deployed to assist in containing the fire by cutting a line around the burning area. Firefighters with the Forest Service then lit backfires to burn out the fuel between the plow line and the main fire.

Responding to the initial call today were units from Eagle Springs Fire Department, Seven Lakes Fire Rescue, and West End Fire & Rescue.

Additional units that responded included Eastwood Fire Department, Cypress Pointe Fire & Rescue, Crains Creek Fire Rescue, Southern Pines Fire & Rescue, Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Pinebluff Fire & Rescue, Whispering Pines Fire Rescue, NC Forest Service, Moore County Sheriff's Office and the Moore County Fire Marshals Office.
