Emergency responders were dispatched to a single-vehicle accident involving a motorcycle in the 4100 block of Dowd Road just before 7:30 pm.
The motorcycle crossed the center line running off the opposite side of the road while coming around a curve. According to officials, the man was thrown from where the motorcycle came to a stop.
The adult male driver of the motorcycle was transported by ambulance to a landing zone that was established on Carthage Road. Here the victim was met by a UNC Air Care helicopter to be transported to a Trauma Center.
Responding were units with Seven Lakes Fire Rescue, Moore County EMS, Moore County Sheriff's Office, and the NC State Highway Patrol.
