Nancy Jane Mathieu Davis, age 89, entered eternal rest on Monday, April 15, 2024 in Southern Pines, NC. Nancy was born on Nov 21st in Owaneco, Illinois to Gladys McShea Mathieu.
Nancy was married to Ronald M Davis, who passed away in 2019, proud residents and active volunteers in the Pinehurst area for over 30 years. Nancy loved being a corporate wife and raising her two daughters from CA to TX, and the NE, retiring in NC. Nancy and Ron traveled the world together, wintered in Puerto Vallarta, played golf, enjoyed the symphony, the arts & ballet.
Nancy earned her degree in Education and was an active member of many organizations including FirstHealth Foundation, Questers, Hospice, DAR and an advocate for neglected children in the court system as a Guardian ad Litem earning the Governor’s Award. Nancy also had a passion for genealogy which took her on many adventures across the globe researching her ancestors.
Nancy will be remembered as a beloved wife, devoted mother, grandmother and a dear friend. Nancy was often referred to as Saint Nancy with her kind soul and infectious smile and was blessed with an adventurous and independent spirit.
She is survived by her two daughters, Jeannine Davis Harris & Charlene Davis Mathis (Mark), Grandchildren: Leigh, Reid and Brad Harris and Ryan Mathis.
A memorial service will be held privately.
Services are entrusted to Boles Funeral Home, Southern Pines.
