Emergency responders were dispatched to reports of a man who had fallen off of a bicycle on Tremont Street off of Youngs Road at 10:25 am
The first arriving firefighters requested that a helicopter be launched to assist with this call.
The 73-year-old male victim was transported from the scene to the ballpark on Morganton Road where a landing zone had been established.
A helicopter from UNC landed at the LZ and transported the victim to a Trauma Center.
According to fire officials the victim was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
Responding were units with Southern Pines Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, Moore County Sheriff’s Office, and UNC Air Care.
