Emergency responders were dispatched just before 5:00 pm to a vehicle accident involving a motorcycle and a passenger car.
The accident occurred on US Highway 1 at Lakeshore Drive near Aberdeen Lake.
The adult male motorcycle rider was transported by ambulance to meet a helicopter from UNC to be airlifted to a Trauma Center.
According to law enforcement at the scene the motorcycle was traveling south on US Highway 1 when the car that was traveling north attempted to turn onto Lakeshore Drive pulling out in front of the motorcycle.
Responding were units with Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS. and the Aberdeen Police Department.
