Emergency responders were dispatched to a vehicle accident at the intersection of Mill Creek Road and Airport Road just after 5:00 pm Friday
According to the on-scene fire commander firefighters had to remove the door of a passenger car involved in the wreck to free an injured woman.
Officials called for aircare, but due to weather a helicopter was not available. The adult female victim was transported by ambulance to the hospital.
The driver of the second vehicle declined to go to the hospital according to firefighters.
Airport Road was closed to traffic in both directions for an extended time period. As of this report one lane is open as they alternate between directions of travel.
Responding today were units with Southern Pines Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, and the NC State Highway Patrol.
