Emergency responders have been called to Forest Lake Drive to report that a victim had been run over by a tractor Saturday around 11:30 am.
The first arriving fire units requested that Air Care be launched. Due to a lengthy delay in the arrival of a helicopter, the victim was transported by ambulance to FirstHealth in Pinehurst.
According to fire officials, contractors were working at a home when the man was run over by a tracked skid steer loader. The adult victim reportedly suffered serious injuries in the incident.
Responding were units with West End Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, and Foxfire Police Department. In addition, the Pinehurst Fire Department responded to set up a landing zone for the helicopter.
A person had been reportedly struck or run over by a piece of equipment in Southern Pines yesterday. The victim from that incident was airlifted to a Trauma Center.
