Raymond M. McClung, a cherished husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully at home under Hospice care surrounded by his family on April 21, 2024, at his home in Seven Lakes, North Carolina. He was 75 years old.


Raymond was born on May 9, 1948, in Des Moines, Iowa, to the late Max and Helen McClung. He grew up in Iowa, with his siblings, Michael, and David McClung.


Raymond is survived by his devoted spouse, Donna McClung. He is also survived by his son, Jeffrey McClung and daughter-in-law, Eleni McClung, along with their children, Taylor, Demi, and Max, his daughter, Samantha Clingenpeel, and son-in-law, William Clingenpeel, and their children, Jordan and Jade, his stepdaughter, Tara Thacker, and step-grandchildren, Tyler, and Madison Hallett. All his children and grandchildren were the main source of immense joy and pride to Raymond's life.


He was a successful entrepreneur, with notable achievements in the distribution and technology industries. His dedication and hard work were evident in the businesses he built and the relationships he cultivated.


Raymond was an avid golfer who found solace on the greens and traveled with friends and families. He discovered a passion for darts, enjoying friendly competition with friends.

 


Raymond's faith was an integral part of his life, and he found fulfillment in serving as a Eucharist Minister and Vestry Member at Saint Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church. His commitment to his faith community and his compassion for others left a lasting impact on all who knew him.


A celebration of Raymond's life will be announced later, allowing friends, and loved ones to come together to honor his memory.


A celebration of his life will be held in the near future.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Health Hospice, Saint Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church, and Seven Lakes Fire & Rescue, organizations that were close to Raymond's heart.


Raymond will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His love, laughter, and legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched.


Services are entrusted to Boles Funeral Home of Seven Lakes.
