Units in Carthage were dispatched at 11:30 pm to a vehicle accident located on NC 24/27 near NC Highway 22
In a single vehicle accident the vehicle overturned coming to a stop off of the roadway on its roof.
According to fire officials there were three injured people. One person was transported by ambulance to meet a helicopter from UNC to be airlifted to Trauma Center. The other two people were transported to FirstHealth in Pinehurst with injuries reported as not life-threatening.
NC 24/27 was closed to traffic in both directions at the scene of this accident for an extended time not re-opening until just before 1:00 am
Responding were units with Carthage Fire & Rescue, Highfalls Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, Moore County Sheriff's Office, the NC State Highway Patrol, and UNC Air Care.
