Sheriff Ronnie Fields announces an arrest following a search in the Eagle Springs area of Moore County.
On May 7th ,2024 detectives with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant in the 100 block of Cooper’s Park Drive in Eagle Springs, North Carolina. As a result of the search, detectives seized cocaine, marijuana, and items of drug paraphernalia.
Malcom Lee Smith, age 27, of Eagle Springs, N.C. was arrested and charged with felony possession of cocaine, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling place for controlled substance, simple possession of schedule VI controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, and 2 counts of misdemeanor child abuse.
Smith was committed to the Moore County Detention Center under a 48-hour hold and is scheduled to appear in Moore County District Court on May 20, 2024.
All persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
