Sheriff Announces Arrest Of Two Following Pinebluff Outside Fire

Sheriff Ronnie Fields announces the arrest of two people following an investigation in the Pinebluff area of Moore County.

On Friday, March 15, 2024 the Moore County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a brush fire in the Pnebluff area of Moore County.

Sheriff’s investigators and NC Forestry Service personnel responded and determined that the fire had been intentionally set. Investigators subsequently located and arrested Caitlyn Moore, age 20, and Myron Hash, age 23, both of Pinebluff, North Carolina in connection with the fire. During the arrest, a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia were located.

Moore and Hash were each charged with one count of felony setting fire to woodlands, one count of felony conspiracy, one count of misdemeanor conspiracy, one count of injury to real property, one count of misdemeanor possession of less than ½ ounce of marijuana, and one count of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Investigators believe this was not a random act and that Moore and Hash deliberately targeted the property where the fire occurred following a conflict with a nearby resident.

Both Moore and Hash were released on a written promise pending a first court appearance in Moore County District Court on Thursday, March 21, 2024.

All persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
