Storage Building & Vehicles Burn In Pinebluff Saturday

Emergency responders were dispatched to an outside fire that was quickly upgraded to a structure fire off of Morgan Lane in Pinebluff just after 10:00 pm Saturday.

The first arriving fire unit reported heavy flames and smoke visible from a storage building and vehicles that were on fire in the backyard of a single-wide mobile home.

The storage building and one vehicle were destroyed in the flames. A second vehicle and a trailer were damaged in tonight's blaze.

Firefighters were able to stop the fire from spreading to the nearby home.

Responding tonight were units with Pinebluff Fire & Rescue, Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Southern Pines Fire & Rescue, Pinehurst Fire Department, Moore County Sheriff's Office, and the Pinebluff Police Department.

A Tanker Strike Team had also been dispatched due to drought conditions in the region. This team was made up of units from as far away as Eagle Springs, High Falls, and Carthage, however they were canceled before arrival once the fire was brought under control.

The NC Forest Service and the Moore County Fire Marshals Office responded to assist in determining the cause of the fire tonight.
