Two Airlifted Following Saturday Collison


On scene of a two vehicle accident on US Highway 1 and Park Avenue south of Pinebluff


There was one person entrapped in a pickup truck at this location with firefighters working to extricate the subject from the vehicle using specialized hydraulic powered rescue tools.


Three people were injured in this accident including one in the pickup and two in an SUV.


One person from the truck was transported by ambulance to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.


A landing zone was established at the ballpark in Pinebluff where two helicopters landed.



The two victims from the SUV were transported from the scene by ambulance to meet the helicopters at the ballpark to airlift the victims to a Trauma Center.


US Highway 1 southbound is closed in both lanes.


Units responding included Pinebluff Fire & Rescue, Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, three units from Moore County EMS, Pinebluff Police Department, Moore County Sheriff's Office, and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
