Emergency responders were dispatched to an outside fire in the 900 block of Sandpit Road around 11:30 am Friday.
The fire was being pushed by a strong wind this morning growing to approximately a half an acre in size before the fire department arrived and quickly brought the blaze under control.
A witness saw a vehicle leaving the scene when the fire initially started. This same vehicle had driven back by the fire once, and when it drove past a second time an alert Detective and Deputy immediately left the scene and pulled the vehicle over at the intersection of Roseland Road.
An adult male and an adult female were both taken into custody after reportedly confessing to Deputies.
Responding today were units with Pinebluff Fire & Rescue, Moore County Sheriff's Office, and the NC Forest Service.
