Two Face Drug Charges Following Traffic Stop In Cameron Area

Sheriff Ronnie Fields announces the arrest of two individuals following a traffic stop in the Cameron area of Moore County.


On April 4th, 2024, Detectives with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop in the 1600 block of U.S. Highway 1 Business in Cameron. The traffic stop was initiated because it was known to the detectives that the driver of the motor vehicle was not a licensed driver. During the traffic stop, detectives conducted a search of the vehicle. As a result of the search, detectives located methamphetamine and multiple items of various drug paraphernalia.

Michael Ray Bass, 35 years of age, of Aberdeen, N.C. was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, and no operator’s license. Bass was committed to the Moore County Detention Center under a $8,500.00 secured bond with a District Court date of May 2nd, 2024.

Bobby Paul Wade, 48 years of age, of Sanford N.C. was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Wade was committed to the Moore County Detention Center under no bond (per HB813) with a District Court date of May 2nd, 2024.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
