US 15-501 Closed Between Eastwood And Carthage Due To Downed Trees & Powerlines

Emergency responders across Moore County have been busy with storm damage calls including downed trees and downed powerlines.

US Highway 15-501 in the area of Highway 73 and Doubs Chaple Road is closed to traffic in both directions after there were reports of numerous trees bringing down powerlines.

Fire units from Eastwood Fire Department along with Carthage Fire & Rescue are out with units from the department of transportation, electrical contractors and tree contractors on 15-501 addressing incidents at several locations.

Following this mornings high winds there have been storm damage calls in Seven Lakes, Pinehurst, Eastwood, Carthage, Cameron and Vass.

Residents are advised to use caution when driving today and never approach a downed powerline.
