Just after 2:00 am Crains Creelk Fire & Rescue was dispatched to a vehicle Fire on Autumn Drive located a short distance off NC 690.
When first arriving Crain's Creek Fire Chief Kenny Mackey reported a passenger vehicle fully involved. A short time later the Chief notified dispatch requesting the incident be upgraded to a structure fire response.
According to Mackey there was an initial language barrier, however as the vehicle fire was being brought under control someone from that location was able to communicate that there was a separate fire located in a small room of the nearby single wide trailer.
Fire officials quickly initiated an attack on the fire inside the structure containing it to that one area. The vehicle was totally destroyed in the early morning blaze.
Responding were units from Crain's Creek Fire & Rescue, Cypress Pointe Fire & Rescue, Fort Liberty Fire & Emergency Services, Spout Springs Fire & Emergency Services, the Moore County Sheriff's Office, and the Moore County Fire Marshals Office.
The cause of these two separate fires remained under investigation as of this report.
