Emergency responders were dispatched to a single vehicle accident on US Highway 1 in Aberdeen just after 12 midnight.
One vehicle was overturned on its roof off of the side of the roadway.
Firefighters spent approximately 10 minutes extricating an adult male from the vehicle which landed in an unusual position.
The victim was transported by ambulance to the hospital in Pinehurst with injuries reported as not immediately life-threatening according to fire officials.
Representatives with Duke Energy responded to repair the downed powerlines and a power pole that was damaged in the accident.
Both southbound lanes of US Highway 1 were closed to traffic near Bonnie Brook Road for an extended time period.
Responding were units with Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, and the Aberdeen Police Department.
