Sheriff Ronnie Fields announces an arrest following an investigation in the West End area of Moore County.
On May 14, 2024 the Moore County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an assault on an elderly man that occurred at a residence in West End, North Carolina. The man was transported to Moore Regional Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
On May 15, 2024 sheriff’s investigators arrested Brandy Marie Scarboro, age 40, of West End, North Carolina in connection with the assault.
Scarboro was charged with one count of felony assault by strangulation, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, felony abuse of a disabled or elder person, felony neglect of a disabled or elder person, and one count of felony second-degree kidnapping. Scarboro was committed to the Moore County Detention Center without bond pending an appearance in Moore County District Court on May 30, 2024.
All persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law,
