Emergency responders were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on US Highway 1 just south of the Pinebluff city limit at 9:45 am Thursday.
According to a State Trooper there had been reports of a driver who was driving in the wrong direction shortly before this accident occurred almost striking two vehicles.
The driver was reportedly driving southbound in the northbound lanes of US Highway 1 where there is a divider between lanes when the vehicle ran off of the road striking a group of trees.
Fire officials stated that the driver did not sustain any injuries in the accident; but rather was transported by EMS due to a medical emergency that was possibly heat related.
One lane of US Highway 1 in the northbound direction was temporarily closed while the victim was assisted and the accident investigation started.
Responding today were units with Pinebluff Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, and the NC State Highway Patrol.
